Get to know your teachers here at Winter Park High School. Ms. Abbey Kish can be found in the 800 building, room 802. She loves teaching art, and she has been teaching for 9 years overall. This year also counts as her 3rd year here at Winter Park. All of the classes she teaches are for drawing, from beginner to advanced levels.
She sponsors a couple of clubs including the Art Club, which is usually held in her room on Thursdays, and the newly created Fashion Club.
Originally, Ms. Kish is from and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Florida after college. Her favorite hobby is “art, obviously,” as well as spending time with her dog and occasionally trying out new restaurants.
If Ms. Kish could travel anywhere, she said she couldn’t really decide, but might like to go on an art tour of the best art exhibits and museums around Europe, such as the Louvre in Paris and the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
When asked if she could or wanted to teach any other subject, she stated, “If I had to pick, maybe an English teacher,” mentioning she also loves to read.
Her “hot take” on our school? The school needs more artwork or murals around the campus. This would definitely add an artistic flare and colorful environment in the hallways.
