Women’s Iowa State and Northern Iowa recently played each other on November 20, a matchup that was predicted to be nothing special. However, after outsourcing the Cyclones in the 3rd and 4th quarter, the Panthers came out on top with a huge upset against a top 10 team. This is a result of the game both Maya McDermott and Kayla Laube had, McDermott dropping 37 points and Laube having 21. Both seniors at Northern Iowa put on a show leading to the upset. Hopefully the Iowa State Cyclones can shake off this tough loss for their next game as they take on South Carolina (1) next week on Thursday, November 28.
