Winterfest, a festive occasion performed every year around December, is a combined concert with Winter Park’s orchestra and chorus programs. It is essentially one of the only concerts with orchestra and chorus that you have to pay for tickets to watch, and seats usually fill up fast. This year’s Winterfest is on Tuesday, December 10 at 7pm, in the WPHS Auditorium.
This year they also have a Celtic theme for the music in the concert. Some of the scores included in this year’s program have a Celtic style with some Welsh songs as well. There is also a tradition, as the chorus and orchestra always perform the famous Hallelujah Chorus every year.
Most songs will be performed with combined music and singing from the advanced orchestra and chorus, however there are usually some separate orchestra and chorus performances as well with the different groups.
The auditorium is typically accessorized with beautiful holiday decorations and lighting. Tickets are available on TeachTix, with prices ranging around 10 to 15 dollars. It is an amazing and festive musical experience held every year, so be sure to check it out sometime!
