Winter Park High School’s girls volleyball team had a remarkable start to the season. During their first game on Tuesday August 22nd, senior Fallon Stewart achieved a significant milestone by making her 1000th kill, ranking number 3 in Winter Park history! The following day, she moved up to number 2, surpassing Beth Nordhorn’s record.
Coach Gibson expressed admiration for Fallon’s accomplishments, “The impressive thing about her achieving this, was during her freshman year she only got to play 12 games because of Covid. She missed half of a season one year and it’s amazing how she reached this point.” Fallon scored 400 points last year and needs 375 more to reach the number one spot this year.
Be sure to cheer on the lady wildcats and support Fallon as she aims for the number one spot this season!
Top three:
Callie Rivers 1394 (2003-2006) won 3 state championships
Beth Nordhorn 1010 (2010-2013) one state champ and one runner up
Fallon Stewart 1019 (2020 – present)
What is a kill?
Coach Gibson explains: “A kill is when they jump to attack the third contact they terminate the play or score a point.”
