The leaders of multiple cultural and heritage clubs and associations have come together to host a big club meeting, inviting members from different clubs–and anyone else who wished to attend– to celebrate MLK day with food from across multiple cultures and countries. Participating clubs included the Black Student Union, Jewish Student Union, the Asian and South Asian Student Unions, and the Student Multicultural Association.
Taking place on Wednesday, January 22, they all met in the West cafeteria after school. Club members brought a lot of different food and drinks associated with their various countries and cultures, providing a large arrangement of food for everyone to enjoy along with plates, utensils, and cups for the drinks.
Club leaders helped serve food, advertised for their clubs, and made sure everyone knew that anyone and everyone was welcome regardless of whether they were part of a certain race or ethnicity. Winter Park High School’s Instagram account made a post about it, captioning it: “A Day of Unity at the Park.”
