This week in Winter Park’s performing arts, the theatre department kicked off their fall musical, written by Steven Sondheim, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! 

There was an extraordinary audition turnout, the largest in over 5 years. Troupe 850 is thrilled at how much the department has grown in the past few years, and is delighted to see so many new and returning faces as they kick off this year’s season. 

Winter Park’s Theatre sponsor and director, Ms. Hughes, as well as Sweeney Todd’s production members, are looking forward to working with the new Technical Director, Ms. McGaha, who is joining Winter Park as a teacher and director for her first year. 

Ms. Hughes feels “super confident that we are going to have a good show,” and she is very excited to start the process!
